Heat training has shown some big benefit for performance, even training in pure endurance. Good article about it in Trainer Road Science of getting faster. It also shows the importance of adapting to the heat if you are going to race in a hot climate.
It will be very important for the Cairns IM crew to find ways and tricks to adapt because training in 15 degrees C and racing in 25 degrees C will put a big strain on the body and will affect the performance of Victorians for example compair with Queenslanders.
Riding and running in a hot room, over dressing while training, steam bath or sauna after a training sessions are some of the tricks you can use. Train safe. Coach Liam 🙂
