Peaking at the right time is one of the hardest things to do as an athlete. Many athletes are fit all year round but are never super fit.
It is usually for body image, self esteem and insecurity reasons. They love to look fit and strong all year round but they actually missing out on their best performance. I personally will only care about two races this year and I will only be super fit for two races. IM Cairns and IMWA. The rest, I really don’t care but I know I will be ready and performing at my best for those two races unless I get injured and/or sick. I have done this for 35 years now and that is how I have achieved all of my goals as an athlete. You can too 🙂
