Preparing for Interstate or Overseas Travel Triathlon Part 2

One of the most stressful things about interstate or overseas travel with your bike to races is the packing. How will everything fit into the car? Will I make the baggage weight limit at the airport? What If I forget something vital? This week we look at packing your bike for flying.

Dissembling Your Bike Part 1

  1. Remove pedals
  2. Lower saddle by loosening & dropping seat post or pulling it out entirely
  3. Disconnect rear derailleur, secure to frame & protect with padding
  4. Undo handle bars & secure to frame
  5. Remove wheels, take out skewers, open valves & release air pressure then place in wheel cover bags.
